View club details →Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in Australia — a paddle sport that blends tennis, badminton and table tennis on a badminton-sized court, played with a perforated plastic ball and solid paddles. Easy to learn, genuinely hard to master.
A paddle sport played in singles or doubles. The court is 6.1m × 13.4m — about a quarter the size of a tennis court — and the net sits just below hip height.
Games are typically played to 11 points, win by 2. You only score on your own serve. The ball must bounce once on each side after the serve before volleys are allowed — known as the double-bounce rule.
The 2.1m zone either side of the net is the "non-volley zone" — the kitchen. You can't hit a volley while standing inside it. It's the single rule that defines how the game is played.
Pickleball Clubs Australia is an independent directory built to help players find somewhere to play — whether you're new to the sport, travelling interstate, or looking for a more serious community.
